Italian Banks Lead Europe in Bad Loans, Estonia Has Least: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- Italian banks have the highest amount of doubtful and non-performing loans on their books in the European Union, at about 355 billion euros ($377 billion). That puts Italy far ahead of French banks in second place with 169 billion euros. The lowest burdens in absolute terms are in the Baltic nations, with Estonian banks showing only 81 million euros in troubled loans.
