NSE’s MD And CEO Chitra Ramkrishna Expresses Desire To Resign

The chief executive officer and managing director of the National Stock Exchange, Chitra Ramkrishna, has expressed her desire to resign, a person close to the development told BloombergQuint.

A board meeting on the matter is currently underway. The NSE will offer a comment, if any, only once the board meeting concludes, an official spokesperson of the exchange said over the phone.

Ramkrishna offered to quit due to differences with several board members on the future of the exchange, Bloomberg said, quoting people familiar with the matter who asked not be identified as they are not authorised to speak publicly.

NSE is likely to name J Ravichandran as chief executive officer, according to information with Bloomberg.

The stock exchange is preparing to go public early next year and appointed bankers including Citigroup and Morgan Stanley in August.
