Eicher Motors October Sales Rise 33%, Exports Soar

Eicher Motors exports grew 95% in October, stock jumps 4 percent

Eicher Motors Ltd. jumped as much as 3.9 percent after the automaker reported 33 percent increase in total sales and a near two-fold jump in exports in the month of October.

Total sales rose to 59,127 vehicles compared to 44,522 vehicles during the same month last year, the owner of the Royal Enfield brand said in its filing to the exchanges.

Sale of bikes up to 350 cc soared 35 percent to 55,188 units compared to 40,800 units in October 2015.

Sales of models above 350 cc grew 6 percent to 3,939 units as against 3,722 units.

Exports Boost

The company’s exports surged 95 percent to 748 units compared to 384 units during the corresponding month last year.

Shares of Eicher Motors traded 3.26 percent higher at Rs 24,785 as of 10:10 a.m.
