National Fertilizers’ First Quarter Loss Widens To Rs 60 Lakh

National Fertilizers’ EBITDA margin expanded 200 basis points even as losses widened.

National Fertilizers Ltd.’s first quarter loss widened to Rs 60 lakh in the April to June quarter compared to a loss of Rs 10.2 crore in the same quarter last year.

Revenue for the fertilisers and chemicals producer in the first quarter declined 11.4 percent to Rs 1,375.1 crore from Rs 1,551.8 crore, on a yearly basis, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation increased 31.9 percent to Rs 85.2 crore from Rs 64.6 crore, in year-ago quarter. The EBITDA margin expanded 200 basis points to 6.2 percent.

Net sales from the urea business in the first quarter declined 14.8 percent to Rs 1,291.5 crore from Rs 1,516.2 crore.
