CBI Seeks Time to File Additional Documents for Arrest Warrants Against Maxis Promoters 

CBI to file additional documents in Aircel-Maxis case. Hearing on August 29.

The Central Bureau of Investigation’s plea seeking arrest warrants against Maxis Communications Bhd and its promoters has been adjourned till Monday, August 29, as the the investigating agency requested more time to file additional documents.

Here’s what the CBI had told the court in the last hearing in the Aircel-Maxis case:

  • Satisfied all formalities regarding the summoning of the Malaysian companies involved.
  • The summons is pending with Malaysian Attorney General.
  • The court needs to issue arrest warrants against the Malaysian promoters to bring them to India.
  • The accused in Malaysia are not responding to the summons.

The hearing regarding the Special Court’s jurisdiction in the Aircel-Maxis case is underway. The Special court was designated to hear all cases related to irregularities in 2G spectrum allocation in 2008.
