Hawley Beats McCaskill in Missouri Senate Race

(Bloomberg) -- Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley, a Republican, defeated incumbent Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill, according to projections from the Associated Press.

McCaskill has held the seat since 2007 and had been a top target for the GOP after President Donald Trump won the state by nearly 19 points. Americans for Prosperity, the political action committee backed by the right-leaning Koch brothers, hammered McCaskill in ads for opposing last year’s tax overhaul, and Hawley faulted her for opposing Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
