Facebook Removes Another 559 Pages, 251 Accounts That Broke Rule

(Bloomberg) -- Facebook says it is removing 559 pages and 251 accounts today that have consistently broken the platform’s rules against spam and coordinated inauthentic behavior.

  • Facebook says these networks today increasingly use sensational political content, regardless of its political slant, to generate clickbait, earning money for every visitor to the site.
    • Some were "ad farms" using Facebook to mislead people into thinking that they were forums for legitimate political debate.
  • Facebook says it is releasing details of such behavior given the timing ahead of the US midterm elections
