a majority (~56%) of the Nifty-50 index constituents gained in April 2022;
goods and services tax collections were at a record high in April-22 (Rs 1.7 trillion), implying a five-month high growth of 18.5% YoY;
average daily cash volumes were the highest in six months in April-22;
headline consumer price index inflation, however, at multi-decade highs worldwide;
foreign institutional investor ownership in Nifty-500 was at a multi-quarter low.
