Reliance Securities Report
The Indian rupee ended flat against the U.S. dollar as rebound in the Greenback from the lows of the session offset gains made in the early trades this Thursday.
The rupee was quoted at 74.93 to the dollar compared with 74.94 on Wednesday. The domestic unit had appreciated to an intraday high of 74.79 earlier in the session.
India’s Monetary Policy Committee kept its key policy interest rate unchanged at a record-low amid quickening inflation, but left the door open for more easing to revive growth in an economy stricken by the coronavirus pandemic.
Indian benchmark S&P BSE Sensex and the broader Nifty 50 index ended the day with gains on Thursday after Reserve Bank of India's MPC left repo rate unchanged at 4%.
U.S. dollar ended flat on Thursday ahead of the nonfarm payroll numbers on Friday and as investors digested mixed data on U.S. jobless claims.
