The Q3 FY22 earnings season kicks off in an environment when the Omicron variant wave is accelerating across India, and inflation headwinds are only getting stronger by the day. Demand and general sentiment are mixed – some of the sectors are witnessing robust operating levers while some others are still facing supply issues.
Having said that, the markets have largely aligned valuations and stock performance to reflect these trends. And unless we get to see a markedly different reporting in numbers or a very big surprise in commentary, we do not see any material actionable ideas for our universe.
Our coverage universe (166 Companies, excluding banks) is projected to grow 20.5% on the revenues and 20.5% on the operating profits. Net earnings for our coverage are estimated to growth 43.8% YoY due to base effect of metals and telecom (loss to profit).
