The quarter saw broad based economic recovery across sectors which reflected in robust earnings for the companies, supported by pick-up in vaccination drive across the country and lower Covid-19 cases.
Management commentary for most of the companies were encouraging and several companies are now optimistic about their future growth potential, as many have re-started their earlier stalled capex program.
Increasing prices of raw materials resulted in pressure on operating margins, particularly in the consumer and automotive sectors.
It will take some time for the rising commodity prices to stabilise, till then companies are resorting to several measures of cost cutting and company-specific efficiency measures to maintain their margins.
The fourth wave of Covid-19 around the world has brought the focus back on pharmaceutical companies, for domestic and exports market, like what happened during H1 FY22.
