In the first fortnight of November 2020, economic activity showed mixed trends.
The New Delhi traffic congestion index was marginally lower while Google’s mobility indicators witnessed a sharp improvement, except for work place movements.
Movement for essential services (pharmacy and super market) surged.
Use of public transport and movement for retail and recreation were also near pre-Covid-19 levels, helped by festive cheer and the opening up of most retail and recreational outlets.
Both, urban and rural unemployment situation improved.
