Nirmal Bang Report

We interacted with leading consumer durables brands, dealers and distributors as well as modern-retail chains to gauge the festive season sales trend for the sector.

Our channel checks suggest that the growth for the industry was in healthy double digits, led by -

  1. strong surge in sales from e-commerce
  2. semi-urban areas continuing to outpace growth and
  3. revival in footfalls in metro cities.

Growth was broad-based across categories, with clear signs of up-trading. Growth could have been higher, if not for the supply constraints in many categories.
