Motilal Oswal: CPI Inflation Surges To 77-Month High In October; IIP Rebounds In September

Marginally higher-than-expected 7.5% and also higher than market consensus of 7.3%, Consumer Price Index-based retail inflation came in at 77-month high of 7.6% YoY in October 2020 as against 7.3% a month ago and 4.6% in October 2019.

Food inflation in Oct-2020 came in at six-month high of 11.1% YoY compared to 10.7% a month ago.

Separately, Index of Industrial Production (IIP) grew 0.2% YoY in September 2020, the first growth in seven months.
