In the second fortnight of February 2021, for the first time in four months, the number of virus cases witnessed an upturn and rose by 17.8% over the previous fortnight while the number of incremental deaths was down by 9.5%.
Mobility indicators witnessed some slowdown as localised containment restrictions were ramped up.
The TomTom New Delhi traffic congestion index slowed from the previous fortnight. Google mobility indicators slowed for essential services (although they are above pre-Covid-19 levels) and for recreational activities.
Mobility for public transport and work-place movements was marginally higher. But, economic activity continued to hold up.
