CARE Ratings Research Report
CARE Ratings’ Economic Meter is an objective way of tracking the state of the economy based on 14 high frequency indicators. Each of these indicators reflect a particular aspect of economic activity in areas such as production, consumption, investment, and foreign trade.
The changes are tracked and compared over the preceding periods both in terms of single month and cumulative basis.
The CARE Economic Meter score dropped to 6.05 in November 2021 primarily due to weak trade data and lower power consumption during the month. However, it has remained range bound in 6.0-7.0 region for the past four months which is indicative of steady economic progress.
