Strides Pharma Science Ltd. has announced plans to re-enter sterile injectable business through SteriScience which would be a dedicated arm for global sterile injectables business.
Strides Pharma would own 54% equity stake in SteriScience while the remaining 46% stake would be owned by Strides promoter family office.
A total of Rs 4 billion would be invested in this business over next 24 months including Rs 2.5 billion equity and Rs 1.5 billion debt.
Of the equity investment, Strides Pharma would invest Rs 1.35 billion for its 54% stake and remaining amount would be invested by the family office of the promoters.
We view this move as positive for the company from long term perspective as it would create a new growth driver without burdening the balance sheet.
