Tata Consumer Products Ltd. has implemented a price hike of approximately 5% in Tata Salt effective October 01, 2020 and tea volumes have completely recovered now - that's the insight from our conversation with distributors in Maharashtra.
They told us, 1. there has been sequential recovery in sales and now the business is back to 100% of pre-Covid-19 sales,
2. supply chain integration for Tata salt and Tata tea has been completed in Mumbai but is still under process in Tier-2 cities,
3. criteria for distributor selection (of the integrated business) is based on i) retailer reach, ii) capital availability, iii) feet on street etc.
