ICICI Securities Report
The contours of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.’s Q1 was on expected lines. Consolidated revenue declined 1% while Ebitda/profit after tax grew by 4%/3%.
India business sales grew 5% with 3% domestic volume growth. Household Insecticides grew by 27% (similar volume growth) driven by disease prevention consumer behaviour, innovation and likely market share gains from illegal incense sticks.
Soaps declined 2%. Hair colour revenues also declined 18% being more impacted from the general slowdown and discretionary nature of the category. Household Insecticide, Hygiene and for money (VFM) portfolio (85% of consolidated business) grew 9%.
Hygiene category grew 15% (driven with increased innovation and new product launches across geographies – 45 new product launches) but VFM and Others declined 13% and 35% respectively.
