Geopolitical tensions, and in-turn resultant rising crude prices, weak rupee combined with Fed’s hawkishness adversely impacted markets, with benchmark Nifty losing more than 3% during the month of February 2022. High selling pressure from foreign portfolio investments continued during February 2022 where IT and non-banking financial companies remained the top sold sectors.
During the month of February 2022, domestic funds increased positions in large cap stocks were in few sectors valuation turned slightly attractive given the corrections, mainly banks and NBFCs.
