Nirmal Bang Report

We attended the analyst meet hosted by Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. and discussed the company’s India business performance and strategy. The following are the key takeaways -

Core hand hygiene, which forms the bulk of the portfolio, has seen the highest traction (both in soaps and handwashes) since the outbreak of Covid-19.

Category penetration has fundamentally changed in the last seven-eight months and has gone up by 1.5-1.7 times, both in urban and rural areas.

Soap, which is nearly a 100% penetrated category, has seen a rise in consumption, led by an increase in handwashing and bathing.
