We recently interacted with the management of Galaxy Surfactants Ltd. to discuss the overall business environment, near term issues related to raw materials and supply chain and future growth prospects.
Galaxy Surfactants faced serious margin pressure in Q2 FY22 on account of three factors:
delay in availability of key raw materials,
elevated freight costs and
elongated supply chain.
The company expects sequential improvement in these supply-related issues and expects normalisation by the end of FY22.
Underlying demand remains unaffected across regions, but the management sees a possibility of downtrading in the near term in developed markets in the current environment.
