Fertiliser sales declined 17% YoY in August driven by 48% decline in di-ammonium phosphate sales (to 6.5 lakh tons).
Urea/nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium sales declined 5%/8% to 2.8/1.1 million tonnes.
Imported fertiliser sales declined 39% to 0.9 million tonnes due to 69%/26% decline in DAP/NPK sales.
Sale of indigenously manufactured DAP declined 21% YoY.
Continuous increase in price of phosphatic fertiliser raw materials internationally coupled with fixation of DAP Mrp at Rs 1200/bag in India has put tremendous pressure on the profitability of DAP manufacturers and importers and created supply shortages in the market.
