Dolat Capital Report
New investments down for twelfth consecutive month by 55.1% YoY to Rs 571 billion (up 35.2% month on month) in July 2020, primarily due to fall in power/railways/road.
New investments announced in year to date 2021 decreased by 70.1% YoY to Rs 1,584 billion owing to the fall in others/real Estate/power which was partially offset by rise in Power Distribution.
Manufacturing segment saw a major portion of new investments with 22.3% share followed by mining/real estate at 17.6%/ 7.6% in July 2020.
In terms of geographical spread, Tamil Nadu took the lead with 29.0% share followed by Jharkhand/ Karnataka with 15.4%/ 12.0% share.
The major projects announced in July 2020 include solar cells and modules in Oragadam (Rs 54.2 billion), Sanghamitra open cast coal mining project (Rs 57.5 billion) and Naurangpur residential colony project (Rs 5.3 billion).
