Nirmal Bang Report

Cement demand across regions continued to see positive momentum and as a result cement prices increased sharply in various regions from the first week of March 2021, thus reversing the trend of declining or stable pricing witnessed in the last few months.

We had highlighted earlier that cost inflation is likely to be higher in Q4 FY21 and consequently price hikes are needed to cover the increased costs.

Nonetheless, the first week of March 2021 saw broad-based increase in cement prices across the country with the East region witnessing the largest price hike.

Despite the price hike in March 2021, average cement prices in Q4 FY21 are still slightly lower compared to Q3 FY21 average.
