With strong revival in real estate and construction activities during the January-March 2021 quarter, cement demand has seen sustained recovery during the period.
As a result, cement players have seen strong rebound in their volumes as well as higher realisation due to price hikes taken by the companies.
There has been strong demand environment in the Northern, Central, Western and Eastern regions, though demand remained weak in the Southern region.
A lower base, due to country-wide lockdown in March 2020, has also helped the industry to clock higher volume.
For our coverage universe stocks, we expect YoY volume growth of 25%/15.9%/15% and 5.7% for Ultratech Cement Ltd., Shree Cement Ltd., ACC Ltd. and The Ramco Cements Ltd. respectively.
