Care Ratings: India’s Wholesale Inflation Marks Highest In Seven Months In September

In September 2020, the wholesale price index based inflation increased by 1.3% (prov.), marking successive pick-up for fifth month and the highest in the past seven months.

It was 1% higher than September 2019 (0.3%) and 1.2% higher than the previous month (0.2% in August 2020).

CARE Ratings had estimated WPI at 0.9% for the month. It needs to be noted that the WPI for September has been compiled with a weighted response rate of 72% and may undergo revision in its final estimate.
