ICICI Securities Report
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has released its monthly data on subscribers and MNP (mobile number portability) for October 2020.
Industry active subs rose by 2.5 million with Bharti Airtel Ltd. leading net add with 3.0 million subs.
Mobile broadband subs addition stood at 8.1 million, with highest addition again for Airtel at 4.1 million.
Airtel’s MBB subs market share rose 37 basis points month-on-month to 26.8% while Reliance Jio’s dipped 40 basis points to 51% on active basis.
Airtel has regained market leader position by active subs. MNP churn remains high at 0.8% and we see Airtel poised to gain from it.
