Banks Sectoral Credit Update - Growth Revival Continues: IDBI Capital

IDBI Capital Report

Credit growth continues to improve in November month; stood at 7.1% YoY as compared to 6.9% YoY in October, which could improve further in coming months with pick-up in economic activity and increased requirement for credit in economy linked sectors.

Credit growth continues is upward trajectory, led by industry and personal credit. Agriculture credit growth showed strength at 10.4% YoY.

Industry portfolio growth saw stable growth in November month at 3.8% YoY. Service portfolio rises at 3.6% YoY versus 2.9% YoY in October-21. Retail portfolio surge at 11.6% YoY versus 11.7% YoY in October-21 led by consumer durables as well as other personal loans.

Overall, the credit growth rising (consecutively since last five months) supported by growth in agriculture sector, housing finance companies, wholesale trade, shipping and tourism, hotels and restaurants, however, improving trend visible in all sector credit growth as pickup in economic activity.
