We interacted with Mr. Aman Hans, ex-Niti Aayog, program lead for production-linked incentive for advanced chemistry cell batteries, to get insight into the proposed PLI scheme on ACC batteries.
The cabinet recently approved an outlay of ~Rs 181 billion over five years with the objective of achieving an investment of ~Rs 450 billion to set up a 55-gigawatt hour capacity.
This was aimed at implementing import substitution for advanced batteries and driving the electrification of vehicles in India.
