Supreme Court Building Closing to Public on Health Concerns

(Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Supreme Court building will be closed to the public starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday until further notice, according to an announcement on the court’s website.

The court said it was taking the action “out of concern for the health and safety of the public and Supreme Court employees.”

“All public lectures and visitor programs are temporarily suspended,” the court said, although the building will remain open for official business.

The court is scheduled to hear arguments next on March 23. The court gave no indication of any changes in that schedule or whether the public would be allowed to attend.
