Sudan Arrests 28 Journalists From Sit-In, Network Says

(Bloomberg) -- Sudanese security forces arrested 28 journalists attending a sit-in for press freedom, the head of a media advocacy group said, the latest crackdown in almost a month of anti-government protests.

The journalists were arrested outside the headquarters of Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services in the capital, Khartoum, Sudanese Journalists’ Network Secretary-General Khalid Fathi said by phone. They’d been protesting the repeated seizure of print-runs of al-Jareeda, a local newspaper, he said.
