(Bloomberg) -- South Africa extended a travel ban to all foreign nationals who have traveled through France and Switzerland in a bid to control the spread of the coronavirus.

The ban follows restrictions placed on the entry of foreigners who’d been to several other countries hard-hit by the disease, including the U.S., the U.K. and China.

South Africans planning to transit or travel through those countries should refrain from doing so, and also shouldn’t travel on cruise ships until further notice, the Department of International Relations & Cooperation said in a statement.
