(Bloomberg) -- Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa tested positive for Covid-19 late on Monday but has no symptoms of the virus.

Rebelo de Sousa, 72, is self-isolating and has canceled his agenda for the coming days, according to a statement posted on the presidency’s website.

Rebelo de Sousa is seeking a second term in the presidential election scheduled for Jan. 24. In Portugal, the prime minister and his government set policy. The president is mainly a figurehead, though he has the authority to appoint the premier and dissolve parliament.
