(Bloomberg) -- The body of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was dismembered in order to be easily dissolved, an adviser to Turkey’s president said, in the latest grisly Turkish account of the killing to be released to the media.

“Their aim was to leave no trace of the body,” Yasin Aktay, an adviser to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, told the Hurriyet newspaper on Friday, citing the latest information available from the Turkish prosecutor’s office.

Aktay said the treatment of Khashoggi’s body following the Oct. 2 killing was a “disgrace.” Turkish police have been unable to locate the columnist’s remains despite extensive searches, he said.
