Karti Chidambaram on Thursday challenged the Enforcement Directorate’s notice to vacate his house in Jor Bagh area of Delhi.

The property was attached by the central investigation agency in the INX Media case, where Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son is an accused.

Making a presentation before an adjudicating authority for money laundering cases, Karti said an appeal against the attachment is pending before an appellate authority and that the ED’s eviction notice was a violation of the law.

The eviction notice was served on Wednesday evening following an earlier order of the Adjudicating Authority, Prevention of Money Laundering Act, by which the attachment of the property was confirmed.

The immovable property situated at 115-A Block 172, Jor Bagh, Delhi-110003, was attached by ED on Oct. 10, 2019. The attachment was later confirmed by the authority on March 29, following which the directions were given, the eviction notice said.

The INX Media corruption case worth Rs 305 crore relates to a Foreign Investment Promotion Board approval granted in 2007 for receipt of funds by the company.
