(Bloomberg) -- Members of the U.S. House are being told not to return to the Capitol until the Senate finishes its work on a massive economic stimulus package responding to the coronavirus pandemic, according to an official familiar with the plans.

The action comes as two members of the House have disclosed they’ve tested positive for the virus and numerous others are in self-imposed quarantines.

The House had already pushed back next Monday’s scheduled end to a week-long recess by one day. The Senate has been moving quickly to draw up a rescue plan that still will have to be negotiated with Democrats.
House leaders also are putting together plans for members to vote in staggered, smaller groups on the House floor.
