House Panel to Submit Impeachment Report Soon After Thanksgiving

The Judiciary panel will decide whether to send impeachment charges to the full House for a vote.

(Bloomberg) -- House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff said his committee will send a report on its impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump to the Judiciary Committee soon after this week’s Thanksgiving recess.

The Intelligence panel will continue with its investigative work and is leaving open the possibility of additional hearings or closed-door depositions, Schiff said in a statement Monday.

“The president has accepted or enlisted foreign nations to interfere in our upcoming elections, including the next one,” Schiff said. “This is an urgent matter that cannot wait if we are to protect the nation’s security and the integrity of our elections.”

The Intelligence committee will consider whether to recommend an article of impeachment related to obstruction of Congress because Trump instructed a number of potential witnesses including Secretary of State Michael Pompeo not to testify, Schiff said.

The Judiciary panel will decide whether to send impeachment charges to the full House for a vote.
