(Bloomberg) -- Danish police have detained about 20 people suspected of planning a terrorist attack in the country.

The suspects had “both the intention and the capacity” to conduct a terrorist attack, Flemming Drejer, chief police inspector and operational head of the Danish Security and Intelligence Service, told reporters on Wednesday.

The comments followed a statement by police earlier in the day warning the public that officers were mobilizing across the country amid concern that “a terrorist attack with a militant, Islamist motive” was being planned.
Multiple police raids uncovered materials used in explosives and fire arms. It’s still unclear what the target of any attack might have been.
