The L.A. district attorney’s office referred the case to the city attorney to consider a misdemeanor filing, according to a statement Wednesday from the D.A.’s office.

Avenatti said in a tweet that he was thankful the D.A. has decided not to bring charges against him.
“This Thanksgiving, I am especially grateful for justice,” he said.
