Trump Complains ABC Apologized to Jarrett But Not to Him

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump on Wednesday complained that ABC hadn’t apologized to him for negative statements made on air after an executive apologized to a former Barack Obama adviser for a racist slur against her tweeted by Roseanne Barr.

The tweet was Trump’s first public comment about Barr’s racist posting and addressed Disney CEO Bob Iger’s call to Valerie Jarrett, an Obama adviser between 2009 and 2017. Disney owns ABC.

“Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that ‘ABC does not tolerate comments like those’ made by Roseanne Barr,” Trump said in the tweet. “Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn’t get the call?”

Barr said in her tweet Jarrett looks as if the Muslim Brotherhood and “Planet of the Apes” “had a baby.” After an outcry, Barr said she was sorry and would stop posting on Twitter. ABC canceled her show.
