Finland Would Welcome Hosting Trump Summit With N. Korea's Kim

(Bloomberg) -- Finland would “warmly welcome” U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for a summit summit on its territory, President Sauli Niinisto said.

“We would be glad to host a meeting where peace is forged,” Niinisto said Saturday in an interview on YLE TV1. “It’s great that Finland gets mentioned -- it’s then a whole different matter where the meeting will actually be held.”

Trump said on Friday the list of potential locations for his meeting with Kim has been narrowed to two countries, without identifying the nations, after previously considering five possible locations. Trump has said he hopes to meet with Kim by early June.

The North Korean leader on Friday held a historic meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, where the two agreed to work toward formally ending their war and pursue the “complete denuclearization” of the Korean Peninsula.
