(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump intends to nominate David Satterfield to be U.S. ambassador to Turkey, White House said in a statement Friday night.

Satterfield is a career member of the senior Foreign Service and has been the acting assistant secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs since 2017, according to the statement.
