Somalia Reports First Coronavirus Case, Suspends Most Flights

Somalia suspended all flights other than humanitarian ones after the Horn of Africa nation reported its first case of coronavirus.

“The directive takes effect from March 18,” Aviation Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Salad told reporters in the capital, Mogadishu, on Monday.

The nation’s first Covid-19 patient is a Somali who returned from abroad recently, Health Minister Fawziya Abikar told the state broadcaster on Monday.
