(Bloomberg) -- Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown defeated Republican Jim Renacci to win re-election to a third term, according to projections from NBC and ABC.

Brown beat Renacci, a four-term U.S. representative who was recruited by the White House to run when another Republican candidate withdrew, in a state that Trump won by more than 8 percentage points in 2016.
