Rwanda Cabinet Extends Central Bank Chief's Term by Six Years

(Bloomberg) -- Rwanda’s cabinet approved a six-year extension of central bank Governor John Rwangobwa’s term, according to a statement by the prime minister’s office.

The cabinet also consented to a 10 percent salary increase for teachers in public schools, according to the statement. Further, the ministers agreed to a concession between the Rwanda Development Board and Gasmeth Energy Ltd for the extraction of methane gas from Lake Kivu and approved 25 applications for mineral and quarry licenses.
