(Bloomberg) -- New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo will sign a bill repealing Section 50-A of the Civil Rights Law this week, according to a tweet. Repealing the law would make public the personnel records of police officers, firefighters, and correction officers.

- Section 50-A has also been interpreted to now include disciplinary records.
- The legislature earlier passed a handful of bills that would criminalize harmful use of chokeholds by officers, protect civilian recordings of police activity and require police to report on arrest-related deaths.
- Cuomo said he would sign the bills as soon as they’re passed at his daily briefing Monday.
