(Bloomberg) -- The Japanese government plans to call on people nationwide to refrain from visiting late-night entertainment venues, such as hostess clubs, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the Yomiuri newspaper reported, without stating where it obtained the information.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is likely to make the request at a meeting of a government panel on Saturday, according to the report. The move will represent an escalation of the government’s earlier call for people in seven districts subject to an emergency declaration to avoid such venues.
