(Bloomberg) -- Ford plans to recall a small number of workers on Monday to begin preparing factories for reopening, the Detroit Free Press reported, citing a statement from the company.

The workers will be paid if they choose to work but are not required to, the report said.

Ford declined to specify which sites are calling back workers.
Kelli Felker, Ford’s global manufacturing and communications manager, told the newspaper that the company was asking a small number of hourly and salaried workers to return this week. Felker said it was to prepare for a restart at a date that has not been determined.
