(Bloomberg) -- Ford Motor Co returned to its place as America’s second-best selling automaker last month. It managed to outsell both Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Toyota Motor Corp, who both reported sales gains in October.
After losing to Fiat Chrysler for the first time in a decade in September, Ford bested its crosstown rival by 14,291 vehicles in October. The race with Toyota was a squeaker! Ford edged the Japanese automaker by just 580 models.
Final score: Ford sold 191,682 vehicles, while Toyota sold 191,102. General Motors Co is expected to remain the top seller in America, though it won’t divulge its results for October since it now reports sales only quarterly.
